Sustenance- the maintaining of someone or something in life or existence.

In this season I have been challenged in the best way and I have grown in the best ways. I have stepped out into who the Lord says I am more boldly than I ever have. Something the Lord walked me through recently is stepping into who He says He is more boldly. My discipler challenged me to fast for 3 days. I did it, the Lord showed His goodness and  His provision. The scriptures that I clung to during this fast are these:

This is after the woman at the well and the disciples rejoin Jesus.

31 Meanwhile, the disciples were urging Jesus, “Rabbi, eat something.”

32 But Jesus replied, “I have a kind of food you know nothing about.”

33 “Did someone bring him food while we were gone?” the disciples asked each other.

34 Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.

Can you imagine being so in tune with the will of God that He is literally your source of nourishment. You wouldn’t need food. To walk hand in hand with the Lord would be your only need.

The next scripture is out of the temptation of Jesus in Matthew 4

1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. 2 For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry.

3 During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”

4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say,

‘People do not live by bread alone,

but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Let me just say that again People do not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Food is something good that was created by the Lord. I am not saying food is bad. I am saying that food can become an idol when we go to it as our only source of nutrition. When we trust food to sustain us more than we trust God to sustain us then we put food above Him. During this 3 day fast the Lord showed me that I should trust Him more.

I honestly advise you to turn to the Lord daily to sustain you.

I am still trusting Him to provide for me. When I have a need He fills it. I trust that the Lord is faithful. I am no longer talking about just for nourishment, I mean it financially, emotionally and anything else I need.

Speaking of needs I am still fundraising. I am about $2000 away from my goal. I need to be fully funded by Dec 1, in order to be able to go on a capstone trip near the end of my time here. I hope that you would prayerfully consider supporting me, in order to help me continue pursuing the calling the Lord has placed on my life, to further his kingdom.
